Dalampar or Mam Sheykh Lake in Urmia is one of the beautiful tourist places that attracts many tourists in summer and has a pleasant and healthy climate. The special geographical situation of this region and the natural glaciers of Mount Dalampar have led to the formation of a natural lake. Seeing this unique resort is very attractive for Kurdish, Iranian, and foreign tourists and this has led many people to go to the top of the snowy mountain.
Dalampar Lake is a circular valley 450 meters long and 2720 meters above sea level. The reward of visiting this lake is only for those who love the beautiful nature of Kurdistan and spend a few hours there.
On the road to this lake, one can see greenery and snowy mountains. The snow on this mountain never melts completely and is covered with snow all months of the year. The height of the snow reaches ten meters in winter. In addition to an attractive lake in Dalampar Mountain, there is an attractive lake called "Sula Dukal" Waterfall. Between the lake and the waterfall, there is a 10-kilometer dirt road that takes more than half an hour.
There is a pleasant smell around the lake that smells of various fragrant flowers. Clear water springs can also be found around the lake which are very attractive. Many tourists who visit the lake swim there and have fun in small boats. The surroundings of the lake are filled with “Astragalus, wild almonds, and wild cherries” and dozens of other plants. It also has animals such as "foxes, jackals, squirrels, birds, wild goats, rabbits, and snakes."
As mentioned, Dalampar Lake is located on the slopes of Dalampar Mountain and the weather is colder, snowy, and rainy in autumn and winter. As winter ends and spring and summer arrive, some of the snow on the mountain melts and many rivers spring up and many rivers flow from the mountain. In addition, as the weather warms, the natural glaciers on Mount Dalampar melt, creating temporary lakes. As the natural glaciers melt, the permanent lakes in this region, one of which is Dalampar, increase in water. So, at this time of year, this area is very scenic. The water source of this lake is not only from the surrounding springs but several water sources at the bottom of the lake never allow this lake to dry up.
