Sula Dukal Waterfall in the Mountains of Three Borders

Solin Wrme

Sula Dukal Waterfall is one of the most beautiful, attractive, and highest Waterfalls in the eastern part of Kurdistan and Iran, located next to Dalampar Mountain.

The water flows down due to its size and pressure, causing many droplets to spread in the air and it seems that smoke surrounds the waterfall, so they named it "Dukal" (smoke).

Sula Dukal Waterfall is located near the borders of the East, South, and North parts of Kurdistan and is located next to the famous Dalampar Mountain. Dalampar Mountain belongs to three parts of Greate Kurdistan: East, North, and South.

There are two roads to Sula Dukal Waterfall, one from Urmia and the other from Shino. Both roads lead to the town of Dze in Margawar and then to the village of Gesian. From this village, the visitor has to travel another 9 kilometers (half an hour) to reach the waterfall. A few kilometers after the town of Dze and the village of Gesian, the road is paved, but to reach the waterfall, they must walk about seven kilometers on a trail.

This waterfall is one of the sources of water supply of the Barandz River and the water is very useful for agriculture of the local people. The height of the waterfall is about 40 meters and the width is 10 meters. The volume of water in this waterfall, especially in early spring, is so great that it makes a scary sound when it flows down.

This beautiful waterfall is located in a spotless and pleasant area and visiting it by environmentalists has surprised them.

Sula Dukal is one of the most special waterfalls in Kurdistan. Its water falls from a height of 3,487 meters.
