Sulaimani Province in South part of Kurdistan

Sulaimani is one of the oldest provinces in Kurdistan, located in the northeastern corner of the Mesopotamian map. It is located in the west of the Zagros Mountains and borders with East part of Kurdistan. In the southern sector, it belonged to the Sharazur region, the most fertile plain in the world after the Ukrainian plain.

Location:

Sulaimani is a new city built in 1781 by Ibrahim Pasha Baban as the center and capital of the Baban Kingdom. This city is located at the foot of Mount Azmar and overlooks the fertile plain between Azmar and Baranan, the plain through which streams and rivers flow. Sulaimani is located on latitude 35.30 north and longitude 42, and it is 853 meters above sea level and 110 km from Kirkuk.
