Goti, Gothi, Gosan, is the ancient name of a Kurdish tribe that conquered Sumer and Akkad in 2649 BC and ruled for 125 years and 40 days. Later, the word Gothi became Koti Kurti, Kardkhoy, and Kurdkhoy. This tribe lived in the Zagros Mountains. The Greek Estrabo called them Kurti in his account of the Atropats or Medes. Xenophon, on his return of 10,000 men in 401 BC, met them in the mountains of Zakros and his army was defeated by these Kardokhis.
