Kurdshop-Scientists at the Department of Beekeeping Development Research and the Center for Applied Research at Duzce University in Turkey have shown that bee venom is effective in treating epilepsy, which is also defined as an autoimmune disease, and can be used as a complementary medicine be used.
Dr. Maral Kekecoglu, Director of the Research Department at the Beekeeping Development and Practical Research Center, said that May 20 has been declared as World Bee Day to raise awareness about the importance of bees.
“We need to learn more about the importance of bees every day,” she said. Bees are nature. Bees spread pollen and by this, they give life cycle and continuity to nature.
Bees are constantly renewing themselves for a sustainable environment and have an unprecedented impact on agriculture and plant production. Today, ninety percent of existing plants and foods are increasing by flower pollen. Also, seventy percent of other plants are dispersed by bees. Without bees, there would be no food we eat today, which means that bees are very important creatures.
If there are bees, there will be life
Dr. Maral Kekecoglu says that climate change and food problems can be solved with bees. We must protect the bees. Now, because of the damage humans do to nature, bees are being destroyed. Please be careful with the pesticides you use for agriculture. When using pesticides, use pesticides that do not harm bees. This should be our first choice. People who engage in agriculture, of course, cannot stop farming, but when they do, if they do not use things that are harmful to the bees, they protect the bees. As long as there are bees, life will continue. When we take responsibility for and protect the environment, we can survive with bees.
"Just as bees spread seeds of flowers and plants and have a great impact on the life cycle, they also have many benefits for human health," Kekecoglu said.
Bee venom is very effective in treating epilepsy
The professor continued, “As the Department of Apicultural Development Research and the Center for Applied Research, we have conducted several studies in this field, especially working on bee venom has had very interesting results."
“Our final work has been perfect,” Dr. Maral said. There are treatment opportunities for epilepsy, which causes convulsions and unconsciousness, but the demand for natural remedies has increased in society because natural bee products have no negative effects. Bee venom is very effective in treating epilepsy; we have proven this and made it a scientific document.
"From now on, we will work on Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases," she said, adding that bee venom is effective against systemic and hereditary diseases. Another of our works is working on the anti-aging properties of bee venom. We know this is very good for skin diseases and bee venom is very good for medicine and the treatment of acne and we experienced this. These things have all been explained in the context of scientific works and written in scientific writings. Bee venom has a rejuvenating effect but must be used regularly. For myself, I only used it once and did not benefit! Because it should be used regularly and then the unique benefits will be seen.
