Kurdshop: The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has requested to host the World Cup of Regions (CONIFA) and for this purpose, the president and two vice presidents of the Confederation of Regional Football (CONIFA) have visited the Kurdistan Region, and they will visit sports stadiums in Erbil and Suleimani provinces.

Jalal Saeed, the spokesman of the Kurdistan Football Union (KFU), said that the CONIFA tournament was held once in Kurdistan and they call for this tournament to be held in Kurdistan in 2024; for this purpose, we have prepared a plan that consists of stadiums, accommodation, airports and several tourist attractions that we offer and we hope to receive the answer as soon as possible and once again with the support of the Kurdistan Regional Government to hold this tournament in Kurdistan.

"There is an idea in the Kurdistan Football Union to form the Kurdistan national team again. Even if it is not a championship, we can hold some friendly matches in Baghdad or Basra or abroad," Saeed said, After the end of the Kurdistan Premier League, the Kurdistan national team will be formed again for this season.”
