The importance of exercising for children and its effects on children's education improvement

Nowadays, children from around the world do not do enough physical exercises and they do not have enough physical activities compared to the past thus they have faced obesity.

It is very important that from a young age, children's physical exercise be taken seriously and help them to feel eager about various kinds of activities daily using different techniques while they attend school and are occupied with studying.

Most of the experts in the children's studies field believe that it is necessary for children to have physical exercises from a young age and kindergartens are one of those places where physical activities for children must be taken seriously.

The developed countries' kindergartens try to encourage children through various programs and activities to exercise and different kinds of sports; in other words, physical and mental activities are done together.

Lack of enough physical exercise is a major reason for obesity and it also affects psychological and mental conditions by preventing the person from feeling calm and relaxed.

The experts say that children who reach school age should have enough physical ability to sit on their chairs and use a pencil if not, then they will not be able to attend school properly and they will have other problems later in life.

Exercising and Learning

Taking physical activities seriously must be done through interesting and exciting programs so that they could make the children take part in them eagerly thus, they should be fun for the children.

Physical education teachers must pay attention to selecting fun activities for the children so they would feel excited when they participate in these activities. They should also be designed in a way that they could enhance their physical abilities as well as their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Children can do their personal duties more easily via these physical activities such as eating independently, playing games, or any other task they would like to do.

The World Health Organization (WHO) points out that children must have at least one hour of physical activity in order to stay healthy. Lack of physical activities can reduce their mental health and stop them from enhancing their social abilities.

What are the activities that are considered as exercising?

Any activity that boosts heart beat rate and deepens breathing is considered as movement, activity, and exercising for example running, riding a bike, playing soccer, jumping, gymnastics, …

According to international data, children of 5 to 18 years old must have at least one hour of physical exercise every day.

Why exercising?

The main reason for exercising is to stay healthy now and in the future.

In a short-term sense, being active means having healthy lungs and heart, strong muscles and bones, and an active brain. If a child stays physically active all their life, they will be able to decrease the risk of most diseases such as heart disease, strokes, and diabetes, …

Physical activities also help the brain to stay active and enhance learning abilities. They also strengthen the social abilities to behave in a much better way in society.

According to "The Lancet Child and Adolescent Health" statistics between the years 2001 to 2006, inactivity among boys was 78 % and among girls 80%.

Health and education experts warn about children's inactivity and their lack of interest in doing sports since it can affect their health and learning skills negatively.

Dr. Mark Tremblay from the Children's Hospital in Research Institute in Canada says: that the electronic revolution has fundamentally changed people's physical activities and the electronic devices and technological developments have made people stay at home sitting on a chair all the time.
