Not only Fall, all the seasons and days, the Kurds have always faced suffering, genocide, and attacks that no longer are recorded in newspapers. In the past eleven or twelve years in the Western part of Kurdistan (Rojava), the Kurds have attempted to build their autonomic authority and own their place among the countries of the world, and although they have had some successes, they also have faced very severe disasters.
A few days ago, when the Education Office announced that the new school year was about to begin and the schools would open soon, the children in the alleys of Kobani rushed to schools enthusiastically while singing the "Ey Raqib" anthem to start learning the Kurdish alphabet. These children were shining in the city's alleys with their new school bags. However, I do not know why my mother was afraid of this excitement, every time we would laugh, she said: "I wish your laughter was a blessing." Even we felt uncomfortable after each time we laughed.
From the time that Kurds announced their autonomy along with the Arabs, Syrians, and Assyrians we see that every year in the Fall this autonomy faces an attack. In 2014, the ISIS forces came into Kobane with tanks and armories and surrounded the city. They tried to attack this city but they did not succeed and the warriors of the city resisted them fiercely and they are still fighting this cruel group. Once again, in 2018, the Turkish state bombarded Afrin city and ruined it and after the resistance of the warriors of this city in 58 days they succeeded in taking control of the city. The Turkish state did not stop here and in 2019 they burned Sarekani and Spiyan cities with white phosphorus and thousands of people had to flee. These kinds of attacks are still going on this Fall and the Kurds continually are victims of such attacks. What is the Kurds' fault? Our fault is that we want to learn in our native language.
Now, we see that the Turkish state is attacking our cities with drones and taking our lives bombarding us day and night. The whole world sees this, they watch how our children are crying over their fathers' dead bodies. They see how mothers are singing sad songs over their sons' corpses. They see how Rojava's heartbeats are slowing down and gradually stop beating without anybody taking any responsibility.
I felt very bad when Israel and Hamas began their war and some Kurds showed up in the streets to show their protest while here in Rojava the cities are being bombarded day and night and hundreds of people are getting killed and nobody cares for them!
We, Kurds, do not want to see even our enemies suffering and we feel bad for them. Do such injustice and genocide that is happening in Rojava every day make anybody feel sorry for them?! We are the only ones who are suffering. Tens of local and international forces have camped here in this small piece of land and they are joking with this land's children's lives.
Today, everyone has picked up their swords and is cutting the Kurds' heads. We only want our Kurdish children to learn in Kurdish and nothing more.
Look at Dersim, Robosky, Halabja, and Anfal; neither Autumn nor any other season comes to Kurdistan. The sun does not rise over Kurdistan! If Kurds speak in Kurdish, they will face swords and attacks. We only are left with one word in our mouths, death. Stand in your place a little longer, we want to breathe freely for once with our ancestors' language.
