Israel-Hamas War and the Situation in Kurdistan

Peshawa Hardi

The world was shocked after Hamas forces launched an intensive attack on an Israeli music festival on Saturday, killing hundreds of Jews, taking hundreds of hostages, and taking them to Gaza City. Palestinian forces have been in fierce conflict with Israeli forces for decades, but have never been able to develop and implement such a comprehensive plan. A plan in which the largest number of Israelis were killed and the largest number were wounded and taken prisoner. However, the attack has had other consequences, including spreading to other countries. For example, tourists from the United States, Britain, France, Russia, Argentina, and Brazil have gone missing, and several foreigners have been killed. In other words, the problem is changing from a regional to a global issue. What is known is only preliminary figures, and the exact number of prisoners, dead, and missing Israelis and foreign tourists is still unclear.

Although Israel is attacking while protecting the lives of its prisoners in the hands of Hamas, the news and statements of senior officials of the country indicate that a large-scale air and land attack is underway. All European and American countries have expressed their support for any Israel reaction.

Meanwhile, Iran's name has once again appeared. Many see Iran and even Russia as the supporters, helpers, and even planners of the attack. An attack that has so far completely tarnished the dignity of Israel's defense and armed forces, and it is likely that Israel will take the war to Iran.

Meanwhile, in the war of the shocking and terrible attacks in which thousands of civilians are killed, all the world's media have turned their cameras to the center of the war and investigated the consequences. Turkey has attacked the western part of Kurdistan and is destroying the infrastructure of the region and the world media and even the Kurds have forgotten the massacres and crimes of Turkey.

At the same time, Kurdish politicians are divided into several groups, as can be seen in the Kurdish media, some of which are Islamic forces, although they are not a lot, directly support Hamas.

Most of them, all of the national forces, are waiting for events, but they seem to support Israel in the conflict and do not dare to express it for fear of regional consequences.

The Kurdish policy may be somehow thoughtful and even acceptable. That is, the Kurds have been constantly repressed by regional powers such as Iran and Turkey over the past few decades, and even accused by Iran of helping Israel, so that they can attack them better and more permissible. Therefore, the Kurds and Kurdish forces cannot be expected to come out openly in support of this issue. But what is remarkable is that the field of regional diplomacy is now ready for the Kurds once again. Not to participate in this terrible war, but to prove the truth of all their demands and to show the cruelty and apolitical nature of their opponents.

The question is whether Kurdish politicians can use this opportunity to revive their discussions in the Middle East. Or should they wait for the results?

If the Kurds, from the western part of Kurdistan to the East part of Kurdistan, want to talk to the West again, they must make this war and its initiators a basis for dialogue and negotiations. That is, to document the fate of the victims of terrorism and talk to the Western world that in the past few decades most of their relations in the Middle East have been based on economic interests and do not understand the reality of the region and misunderstanding The Middle East.
