Barbeneh

Pearls, little ball shaped sequins, bullets with a little hole, or a gemstone that are attached to a lace and to be used as a necklace.

Barkojah

It is a piece of jewelry made of gold or silver including a coin of a small or medium size with a hole on it to be sewn to the dress collars to hold lace or they were sewn to the shoulder part of the Kawa (a vest kind of clothe) to hold Sorani wings. This was used as a button in the past.

Barkojah Qobbah

It was particularly made of a special kind of coin called the Qobbah coin.

Barmoor

It is a bauble like a sequin which was used in packs to be hung on lace. They were usually made of high-priced and valuable stones.

Leran Barmoor

It is a kind of necklace made of a bigger or tighter bauble to keep the other sequins and baubles from falling down, a piece of gold coin in different sizes which were surrounded with valuable peals or stones on each side. They added Lira or bigger coins to this necklace, too. It was made in long sizes. The gold coins and the muroos (the baubles) looked the same as each other. It was as long to reach the waist.

Bardabajalah/ Muroobajalah

= sardastar and bindastar

It was a kind of flat Muroo with a hole in the middle of it. The top and bottom parts of it are different. They were made in white, green, or black colors. The white and green ones were more popular but the black ones were shinier.  There are the original and fake kinds of such Muroos. This kind of Muroo is found under the ground and if someone can find it, they will be fortunate and get lucky. If people could not find one they would make them with clay. In the past people used to make such decorations out of sugar and they would put them on. The ones which were handmade were considered to be fake. When they wanted to make a necklace they would use a pair of these to use them on each end of the necklace. Or they used a pair of these to decorate their clothes.

Beliefs

When the top and bottom parts of these baubles could reach each other, the husband and wife’s hearts would get closer and more intimate.

On the black kind of these sequins, there is a picture of an angle.

Muroobajalah is a sacred kind of sequin.

If a person is lucky, their Muroobajalah’s top and bottom parts will reach each other on a Friday night.

Anyone who can find a Muroobajalah is a lucky person.

Healing powers

The white kind of this bauble was used to cure bloated stomachs.

If a baby has Muroobajalah:

When their heels are injured you can put a Muroo especially the white ones in the mother’s breast milk and solve it in the milk, then put the milk on the baby’s heels.

This Muroo is good for eyes and sight.
