Baznah (Bangy)
It is a ring like bracelet made of pricy metals or other materials to be put on the writs or the arm as jewelry.
Baznah La Qol (a bangy on the arm)
It is an adjective that describes a person who wears a bangy on their arms.
Baznah ba Klilah
It is a kind of bangy made of gold or silver. It was made with a small clasp to open it. The silver kind was made thicker and wider.
Baznah Shoushah (Glass bangy)
A kind of bangy made of valuable glasses. In the past, the large glass bangies were used to put on their feet. If a set of these bangies are worn on the wrist they should contain two large ones, two medium-sized ones, and two small ones. If it was worn with pearls or gemstones, it was worn one bangy between the pearl bracelets.
Ajami Baznah (a Persian bangy)
It is a kind of bangy made like a complete circle. It is made in factories. They are very thin and they are worn in packs of twenty.
Kurdish Baznah (a Kurdish bangy)
This kind of bangy is made of gold and it is handmade with a wide body. It is particularly worn among Kurds. It is made in different forms with two, three, five, or ten flowery rows. The width depends on the number of flowery rows on it. The flowers are covered with delicate web-like designs. Sometimes they put a small blue gemstone in the middle of each flower. On the bottom of the wrist is a small chain, Lira, or other kinds of small coins. It is locked with a small clasp like other bangies.
Baznah Qoli (Arm Bangy)
It is the kind of bangy to be worn on the arm, mostly made of glass or crystal.
Bar Bazn
It is a tight bangy used to keep the other bangies in place. In the past when they wore bangies, they used to wear a smaller and tighter bangy or pearl bracelet around their wrist to keep the other bangies from falling out of the hand.
Baziband/ Qolband (Armlet)
It is a larger king of bangy which looks like a snake. It used to be made of gold or glass. Some made them with pearls or Shilan (a blue pearl). The silver kind has a flower in the middle of it.
Bazibandi Mindal (Children’s Armlet)
It was made of a piece of fabric designed with Koujakah (a kind of blue stone), Goshtgra (a kind of shell), and other kinds of pearls. They used to pin it to the child’s shoulder.
Mangori Baziband
It is a piece of gold or silver jewelry made in a rectangular shape with two holes on each side. Different kinds of gemstones were used to decorate it. Two black silk pompoms were added to tie the armlet on the arm. It had lace to be tied to the Kawa (a vest-like clothes) with a button. This was particularly worn by Mangor women to hold a piece of pray written on small pieces of paper.
