Mourou Jo

It is a kind of blue bead that looks like a rye seed and it is used for making necklaces. The necklace is not very long and it is fixed around the neckline. Elderly women use Mourou Jo for Jerchana (a chain underneath the chin to keep Kurdish hats or scarves in place).

Mourou Chaw

A kind of black or navy-blue bead in different sizes. There is a small white spot on it that contains a smaller black spot inside it. Both sides of the bead are painted with these spots. This bead is known to have protection power against the evil eye. 

Mourou Chawazar
A kind of round or flat blue bead in different sizes, used with Barmour, Pawana, cloth sequins, or mixed. If it is in contact with oil, its color changes and turns green. Then, it is said it is dead and not usable anymore.

People's belief about this bead:

-This bead is useful for protecting people against the evil eye and it can help the person who carries it avoid disasters.

-If snakes see this bead, they will go blind; that is why not only women and children but also men use it in their rings to have it with them when they go outdoors.

Mourou Chort

It is a kind of bead that is flat on the sides and it is made of opal. Usually, this kind of bead is used for hand chains. This kind of bead is mostly a souvenir from Haj.

People's belief:

People lend this bead to each other regularly to see it and get rid of depression and anxiety.

Mourou Cholaka

It is a kind of bead that looks like a little sparrow. It is in fact, a kind of fruit that is mixed with other beads to make ornaments.

 People's belief:

This kind of bead helps young people find their partners and marry.

Mourou Chawr and Shirin

It is a kind of expensive opal; its color is light brown with white shades in it as if white smoke is mixed with the original color. There are different shapes of this kind of bead like round, flat, or long forms. The flat shape is used to make Sarpola. It is either pierced or its margins will be covered to make it possible for the opal to be sewn or attached to clothes.

  People's belief:

-This bead is called Oily and Sweet. Since it is oily, it will help you have a blessed life, and its sweetness makes you popular among people.

-If someone carries this bead:

a) They will be blessed.

b) She will be very popular among people, especially to her husband.

c) She will be happy and lucky.

Mourou Chawroka

A kind of black stone like a gem that looks like a cube. It is shiny and seems like to be greasy (chawroka). If someone wears a necklace made of this stone, Shawa, the stones will change color into a lighter shade.

People's belief:

If someone wears a necklace made of this stone, the stone will change into a lighter shade when the owner gets sick, thus, people say that the necklace has died and it cannot be used any longer.

Mourou Hajila

It is a kind of long but little shell. They put four of these shells on a lace in a way that two by two they face each other. Another kind of bead is used at the end of the lace. It can be mixed with Rabnawk and Mekhak to make "Kurmaka", too. In addition to these, they used it to decorate little babies' Kochka.

Mourou Khwen

It is a kind of light red bead that was used to make hand chains. This kind of bead was a souvenir from Haj and people used to lend it to one another for a while.

People's belief:

If someone is injured and the bleeding does not stop, they can hold this kind of bead and the bleeding will stop.
