Types of Kurdish dance (Helperke)

 We can divide Kurdish dance into four types

1. Razmi (War, Uprising, and Political Movement)

This type of dance represents a kind of fight against the enemy and struggle.

 2. Bazmi (Fun and celebration)

In ceremonies such as parties and weddings, birthdays, and all other ceremonies in which the participants express joy and happiness, the type of dance is called Bazmi dance.

 3. Religious

The dances performed in religious ceremonies are also called "Sama".

4. Shingeri (Mourning)

They are dances performed for ceremonies related to mourning.

There are more than 90 types of dances among the Kurmanji and more than 50 types of dances in other parts of Kurdistan. Some special dances among the Kurds of Badinan in South Kurdistan and the Kurds of Khurasan are different from those found in Kurdistan; However, no research has been done so far, and these dances have not been collected or recorded to be used as sources.

The styles of dance in Kurdistan's villages and cities are different. Kurdish dance (Helperke) is more intense and stronger in the villages.
