Kurdshop - Since 2011 Jigarkhwen Culture and Art Center in Amed, North part of Kurdistan, has arranged a documentary film festival called "Filmamed" that has been dispensed 7 times however, after the Turkey government began to govern this city, like many other social activities, this film festival got banned. Now, Filmamed has begun its programs once more to present more documentary films.
The eighth Filmamed documentary film festival will be carried out in Amed City this year. The academia of Middle East Cinema (OSAD) and some of the social organizations will hold a film festival.
The Society of Middle East Cinema has announced some conditions for the festival to be carried out. Based on "these conditions, this year all those documentary films that are not allowed to be presented or those films that have been censored in other places will be shown in this festival as long as there is not any kind of insult to any national, religious, sexual, or cultural identities. This festival will be a place to share, collate and discuss all these documents. Those documentaries that have been produced since 2020 will be accepted to be shown in the festival."
The process of submitting for this festival has begun on July 3rd, and it will end on July 31st. This year the festival will be presented from September 27 for a month.

Producing documentary films will be supported
The performing team of this festival announced that they will support documentary productions. Particularly those projects that highlight the social problems, human rights, differences, refugee situations, and gender equality that result in respecting the intellectuals' rights. Especially those films that have been produced in Diyarbakir and its surrounding areas will be supported.
