Ako Jalilian, an author and researcher from Kermashan province, East Kurdistan, has been awarded the Golden Bila Prize (Ibrahim Ahmad) for 2023 in a ceremony in Sulaimani, South Kurdistan.
The award was presented to Ako Jalilian, the author from East Kurdistan) for his 35 years of efforts to preserve and record Kurdish words and folklore of Southeast Kurdistan.
Ako Jalilian was born in 1971 in Arounawa (Shabad), Kermashan province. He is a writer and researcher in the field of Kurdish folklore, especially in the Kermashan, Ilam, and Lorestan regions.

Ako Jalilian is well known for his Bashur Dictionary, which is the largest dictionary of lower regions of Kurdish dialects, which contains 45000 Kurdish words from the Kermashan, Ilam, and Lorestan regions.
The Kurdish researcher has devoted nearly 30 years to searching for pure Kurdish words and has collected most of the Kurdish words from the indigenous people of these areas and recorded them in an encyclopedia called Kurdika. The Kurdika Encyclopedia is a great, comprehensive, and fundamental research that has never had similar among the Kurds.
The first part of Kurdika, dedicated to Kurdish Terminology, has collected more than 340000 words of all dialects of the Kurdish language in 67000 pages and is scheduled to be published in 30 volumes. This book has been published in nine volumes by Dibache Press in Kermashan. The nine volumes contain 73000 words (from الف-خ) (first eight Kurdish letters) in 8000 pages.
After the publication of the 30 volumes, other parts on Kurdish geography, history, and culture will be published.
