Qubad Jalizadeh - The Poet of Women of the Rain

He was born in 1953 in Koya, Erbil province, South Kurdistan. He finished his primary and secondary education in Koya.

He graduated from Baghdad University, Law Department.

In the 1980s, he joined the Peshmerga of Kurdistan and worked as a revolutionary judge.

He published his first collection of poems in 1988, "A Pencil with White Beard".

After the revolution and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) was established, he worked as the president of the Suleimani Children's Court.

 In 2010, he was hated by the Kurdistan judiciary for writing several articles about corruption in the Kurdistan judiciary and courts and was expelled from Suleimani to Chamchamal.

 He retired at his own request this year due to pressure.

 In the same year, a collection of poems entitled “Snow's Bra is Full of Fibers” was banned by the Kurdistan Parliament's Endowment Committee and collected away from the market.

Qubad Jalizadeh has been awarded as an innovative poet in several Kurdistan literary festivals.

His poems have been translated into Arabic, Persian, and English.

Rebwar Siwayli, a Kurdish author and critic, has written a book on the poems of Qubad Jalizadeh, entitled "The Qubad's Book", which was published in 2022 and received much attention.
