When one looks for Kurdish works and biographies in hidden places, one comes across many people who are hiding in a dark corner with their pens and art. In this regard, this time we explore the city of Kobani and go directly to a hidden figure, the one whose name is rarely mentioned. He is the "Fande", the less visible one. Therefore, in this article, we will discuss his biography and struggle.

Fande Fande was a cheerful person who was very famous among the people of Kobani. He loved reading and science, an intellectual, a photographer, and a calligraphist. He wrote in a personal photo that he was born in 1935 in Kobani. Fande grew up in a poor family. He received his bachelor's degree in 1970 and then began studying Arabic at the University of Lebanon. However, he could not continue his studies due to health problems. He taught in the villages of Kobani such as Qartal, Qurfle, Kalte, Mishko, and Ja'de for 13 years and in the city of Afrin for one year, but he was expelled from teaching by the Ba'ath regime because of his political activities and concern for Kurdishness. After his expulsion, he turned more to political and cultural activities; He therefore became a symbol in the political and cultural movement. He also later opened his photography shop, called Azadi Studio. In the meantime, he printed many photographs of Kurdish artists, poets, and writers and published them everywhere. In 1957, he joined the People's United Party, and he was one of the founders of the movement. He has been arrested about twenty times for these activities. He married and has seven children, four sons and three daughters.

He also opened a library of literary, scientific, historical, etc. books to publish and develop reading and science in Kobani. He loved reading and writing, and he was always reading and writing. He often wrote poetry and memoirs on notebooks. He has two unpublished works; One is called "Wadi Qaws Quzah" or "Nawala Kaskesore" which was about his biography, unfortunately, he did not finish it due to lack of time and the other is called "Mataloken Kurdi" which he wrote in his handwriting.

He has a poem called "O Martyr" which has been composed four times, one of which was worked on by Baran Kandash of the group "Zewa". The poem was also composed by Kawa Group in Damascus and Siamand Kobani. In part of this poem says:

"O great martyr, you are fire

You are the lightning bolt on the enemy, you are the source of my situation

I'll give it to you if I'm a martyr

They are never afraid of war, they want freedom”

Fande passed away of a stroke on a sad evening in late May 1991. Due to lack of time, his works are trapped in holes and he cannot decorate the space of poetry, memory, and text with his pen. His friendship with Haji Bilal, Mohammed Habash, Abdi Nahsan, and Abdulqadir Qatwan was very prominent. A photo of him with Osman Sabri was also seen at his son's house, along with several other photos. "Fande" will remain bright in the memory of readers as a symbol of love for reading.
