Kurdshop - Parvin Chakar, the famous Kurdish singer announced that she will give up her profession in Kurdish music.

Parvin Chakar, an opera singer from Merdin announced an unexpected decision: "The music I am presenting is not popular among people. I cannot have enough support thus I cannot work as well as I would like to. Sometimes my works are considered critically. Recently, I was affected by all those events that happened. They let down my supporters. I found myself in a great effort. However, music soothes one's soul. There is nothing left to be done. It was obvious that this route would end sooner or later. I will accept it all and I will give up on music."

Parvin Chakar can perform opera in Italian, German, and French languages but she says that it always gives me a great sense of pride when I perform in my own language. However, the music she can represent requires official support from the government.

Parvin Chakar twitted that; those who listen to my music and support me are very respectful but I feel tired. I published my album with great enthusiasm, and in order to make you feel happy I was going to dedicate it to you.

I was criticized negatively many times, sometimes they turned into insults. I am tired of defending myself against these behaviors. I have a sensitive heart. I cannot give up on my Kurdish culture and art because I know my origins. What is inspirational for me is my identity. Opera is my life. I have started my career in opera which is as vast as a sea since I was 20 years old. I traveled from city to city and country to country, I had to change my voice. Since 2012 I put all my energy into comprehending Kurdish music and I listened to it all the time. I also was going to record those songs that were my favorites to dedicate them to you.

Parvin Chakar said: I feel satisfied with you. However, like a person who has struggled all their life, I have broken several times. I have felt sadness and I have cried. I have some projects that I am going to complete them. My main field is opera, so I am going to focus on it since I am most capable in this field. I hope you would understand me. Kurdish music will always stay in my heart because it is so beautiful. I thank you all sincerely.
