A Kurdish Short Film Won the Best Short Film Award at the Istanbul Film Festival

A feature film, a documentary, and two short films by Kurdish directors were screened at the festival.

Kurdshop – A Kurdish short film "The Address" directed by Aram Dildar won the best short film award at the 42nd Istanbul Film Festival.

This year's Istanbul Film Festival was organized by the Istanbul Culture and Arts Agency for the 42nd time. Tuesday evening ended with an awards ceremony in Istanbul.

A Kurdish film called “Nawnishan” (The Address) participated in the short film section of the festival and was selected as the first film of the festival.

It is also said the Kurdish film "Nawnishan" directed by Aram Dildar has attracted a lot of attention and likes.

Director Aram Dildar said: “My short film 'Nawnishan' participated in several international festivals and received good attention and won awards. The film is about changing the names of Kurdish villages and translating the Kurdish names into Turkish. It is a comedy in tragedy.”

During the 12 days of the festival, 134 feature films and 29 short films were screened. This year's festival was carried on with 160 films from 84 countries in 14 categories.
