Dear Kurdish Citizens,
In recent days, the Kurdish nation in North Kurdistan recorded two major victories. The first was the victory of the Kurdish Party DEM Party in the municipal elections and the rule of 85 municipalities, especially the municipalities of 11 major cities in North Kurdistan.
Unfortunately, the judiciary and the Turkish government tried to reject the results of the elections in Van using the law and supported the loser of the election, who belonged to the ruling party, as the mayor of Van. This unfair decision caused a mass reaction and the Kurdish nation took to the streets to assert their rights.
Although the mass demonstrations were responded to with repression and guns, the Kurdish people's insistence on their legitimate rights eventually recorded a second major victory and forced the authorities to retreat and the people's elected representative, Abdullah Zeydan, took up the post of mayor in Van.
As Kurdshop, we consider both victories as victories for the whole of Kurdistan and congratulate the Kurdish nation in Greater Kurdistan.
Of course, the unity and solidarity of the people and political forces in all parts of Kurdistan will lead to victory and ensure our rights.
