Kurdshop - A festival called "Voice of Kurdistan Women" will be held in Berlin, Germany.
On June 24 and 25, eight artists from all four parts of Kurdistan will perform live and online concerts.
As announced Barfin Aktay and Sakine Tayna from North part of Kurdistan, Kewyar Hadi and Wajeda Khero from the South part of Kurdistan, Jinda Kanko and Sidar Ibrahim from West part of Kurdistan, and Sahar Lutfi and Hani Mujtahidi from East part of Kurdistan will participate in the festival and sing.
The Berlin Contemporary Opera is organizing the festival with the support of the Berlin Organization, and the concert will be held at the Villa Elizabeth in Berlin, the capital of Germany.
The festival was previously organized for women in Afghanistan and Iran through the same organization. The foundation has already organized festivals for Afghan women called “Afghanistan Women’s Voice” and “Iran Women’s Voice”.
A year of work has been done for the Kurdistan Women's Voice Festival and after selecting eight women artists, preparations for the festival have begun.
Due to the situation in Kurdistan, artists from the West and South cannot have live concerts in Berlin. Instead, their video concerts for the festival will be shown in cinemas.
Yalda Yazdani is the art director of the festival, who traveled to Kurdistan with the director and actor Andreas Rokhol and organize the festival activities.
Also, the stories of the artists who participated in the festival will be shown as short videos.
