Musasir Hill is located in the Rabat area of Sardasht in the East part of Kurdistan. Several remains of the Urartu state have been found on this hill, but some say Musasir is located in the Sidakan area of the Bradost region of Erbil province.

Musasir or the city of the Sun is a lost city in the forests of Sardasht that speaks of the statehood and civilization of the Kurdish nation.

Musasir is a temple of the god Khalidi in the first millennium BC in Kurdistan. In 714 BC, Assyrian King Sargon II attacked the temple, looted it, and moved its belongings to his capital Khrsbad. In the 19th century, European researchers discovered the Assyrian capital and found artifacts looted 2732 years earlier.

For many years, famous historians searched for a lost area called Musasir, or "City of the Sun". Most American and German historians believed that they should look for a "government of the sun" or "Ardeni" in Iraq or Turkey. Initially, a group of German historians thought that Musasir was in a village in the southern part of Kurdistan, but after searching, they knew it was not there. Others believed that Musasir was in the southern part of North Kurdistan.

One of the oldest inscriptions that mentions Musasir is an Assyrian inscription from the reign of Shlmansar III, which, like most Assyrian inscriptions, describes an attack as follows:

In 834-835 BC, the Assyrian king sent one of his chiefs, Dayan Ashur, to the eastern part of Kurdistan and the southern part of North Kurdistan. This chief attacked Zirta in the present-day Saqqez region and the capital of Masashoro in Mana. After collecting taxes, he was sent to Parswa (not Pars, but in present day Iraq). The following year, after crossing Khubushkiya, Musasir, and some areas under the rule of Urartu and Gilzano (the area on the banks of Urmia Lake), Assyria invaded Mana and the present-day East part of Kurdistan. The inscriptions of Sargon and Dorsharkin have mentioned these attacks.

Rabat was the place of Musasir, one of the most important areas of the Mannaean kingdom. It was also the point of connection between the civilizations and governments of Mana with Assyria and Urartu.

Rabat Hill belongs to Rabat town of Sardasht city and is located next to Kalwe River.

The hill was found in 1985 under the supervision of Dr. Kargar and in 2005, historians completed the first work in an area of 25 hectares and discovered important remains of the Iron Age.

The hill covers an area of 25 hectares and comprises three separate hills. There is an entrance in the middle hill and other relics such as bricks with Cuneiform, bricks painted with geometric shapes, plants, animals, lions, winged humans, and ancient symbols carved like the relics of Zeviyeh of Saqqez and Qalaychi of Bokan. It is evidence of the political and cultural connection between these palaces.

The most amazing thing is the image of a winged man with a carved head and long beard with wings spread on both sides and hands raised in prayer. From his clothes, we can tell that he belongs to the Mannaean period.

According to the circular stone courtyard of the palace, historians believe that this was an important city in the ancient world. Musasir was the largest temple of the Khalidi God (Halidi) in the city of the sun. Musasir is said to have been a concurrent government with the Assyrian and Urartian governments.

The history of Musasir tells us that the Kurdish nation is the richest in the Middle East that human history has seen.
