Kurdshop - Two factories for peeling off peanut skin have been opened by two different investors in the city of Silopi in the district of Shirnakh, North Kurdistan. This helped farmers to be able to sell their agricultural products in domestic and foreign markets and thus gain a foothold in the markets.

Silopi district of Shirnakh is one of the main producers of peanuts in the region. Therefore, peeling-off factories were opened in the towns of Senan Edin and Kamil Karatay last year with the investment of State loans.

These factories, which were opened near the Ibrahim Khalil border gate in southern Kurdistan, initially employed 65 workers. The number of workers in both factories is expected to reach 150 in a short period.

Last year, after several negotiations, 15000 tons of product were sold at both factories. This year, during the harvest of peanuts, this number is expected to double compared to last year.
